Today we spoke to joint 1st XI Captain, Josh Moses.

1. What are your nicknames at the club?

Victor, Shmoze.

2. When did you join Chads and why?

I joined in the winter of 2021/22 as I moved up to Leeds for university.

3. Which other clubs have you played for?

St Erme CC & Truro CC, both in Cornwall.

4. What is your most memorable Chads match or moment?

Probably last season, when Sam Cooley and I put on a decent partnership chasing a big score, he was in the 90s and looking for his maiden ton, only for him to run me out just before he got there. Well batted though, Sam.

5. Who are your all-time top three Chads players?

Jack Ryder – Mr Reliable. Last season, Jack was phenomenal, scoring important 40*s all season, truly leading from the front. Playing under him gave the whole team a massive boost in confidence and was one of the significant factors in winning the league.

Hassan Akhtar – What a guy, and what a player. Came into the 1s last year after his 230 in the 2s, and is still one of the nicest, most humble players I’ve ever played with.

Paul Taylor – Where to start with PT? An amazing bloke who is almost certainly the biggest badger in the game. A great keeper and an even better human. Looking forward to some more lower order cameos from him this season.

6. What are your top three self-promotion facts?

I’ve had a beer with Jack Leach’s dad.

Incredibly good at Stumple (If you don’t know, get to know).

I have a lifesize cardboard cut-out of Marcus Trescothick in my bedroom.

7. What tune would you most like to go out to bat to?

Life is a Highway – Rascal Flatts.

8. Which sportsperson do you compare yourself to and why?

Dane Van Niekerk - Do a bit of everything but dislike fitness testing.

9. What do you love the most about Chads?

Although the fantastic community feel is a massive thing for me, the proximity of the ground to Woodies is just superb.

10. What is your favourite part of the Chads ground and why?

Start of the season when the cherry blossoms are flowering, helps take my mind off kicking one off middle stump.

11. What one thing would you change about the club?

Still pushing for a rooftop cocktail bar on top of the pavilion.
